Looks like the AppleTV is getting some attention after being ignored during the Music event Apple just hosted. Apple has done away with the 40Gig AppleTV and slashed the price of the 160Gig Model to US$229. Perhaps they are clearing inventory in preparation for a new AppleTV? It seams lately all other Apple Products have been getting all the love maybe we can look forward to a revision of the AppleTV.
Whatever apple ends up doing one thing is for sure they need a Software update, even if its only to add support for the new iTunes LP format. It would be nice to be able to browse all that new content on my Big Screen.
I know of several people that don’t understand the AppleTV but I love mine, what are your thoughts on apples Media device?

Thats right according to a blog post by the boxee developers during CES they were approached by several device makers with the intrest of embeding boxee in there devices. For now your only option is to set up a Mac or Linix computer to your TV, and install Boxee on that system. While you can also install it on the AppleTV its not fully supported yet (Netflix is non funtional along with a few other bugs, again still alpha software!).
I have to admit the concept of buying a dedicated box (as long as it has the avaliable HD space) is rather exciting. I for one already have boxee installed on my AppleTV and will be installing it on my iMac (just for the nifty interface for Netflix).
Anyway if your as excited about a dedicated boxee device as I am you can read more about it over on the boxee blog, they are actually looking for input on this idea and have a quick survey set up over there to gaterh information on this concept.

Up till recently Boxee has been closed off for only testers to use, but Boxee has now opened up the Alpha testing so no more asking me for invites just head over to boxee.tv/join to get in on the wonderful world of Boxee.
Along with the announcement of the open Alpha Boxee has added some new features:
- iPlayer support for UK users.
- Joost
- MTV Music
- dual-screen support
- Netflix improvements
- Search feature added to Hulu
So far also note that Netflix only works on the Mac version of Boxee and not on the AppleTV so your set if your running on a Mac Mini, This is the one feature I’m waiting for =)
Also remember this is still in Alpha meaning its not finished yet. By all means don’t let that scare you away. Boxee is a wonderful application and works great even in its testing condition. but don’t expect everything to work flawlessly.
