Earlier this morning I posted about how to monitor for the release of the 3.0 Version of the iPhone OS using geektool.

If you didn’t get a chance to actually set this up but were wondering what would happen once the OS was released here is the after image. Remember I set it up to basically show me all versions available and before 10AM PST it was showing me there was 2 versions available for the 3GS and that was it, now it shows versions for all devices

Looks like TomTom will be creating a new application for the iPhone OS 3.0, I’ve been considering getting a GPS device for my car so I don’t have to constantly look at my iPhone when I’m trying to locate a new place.
However it looks like the new iPhone OS 3.0 will be offering turn-by-turn navigation. And with TomTom creating an application to run on the phone you know your getting a great product. They are also offering a dock that allows you to attach your phone to ether the windshield or dashboard to offer handsfree viewing of the phone.

No word on price yet, although I’m guessing its going to be up there in order to not hurt sales of there hardware devices. I’d be willing to pay up to $60 for this product. but we’ll find out soon. Launch date is scheduled for June 17th along with the availability of the iPhone 3.0 software.

So I love the idea behind the Android OS, in fact I still have the old version of the iPhone and rather than upgrade to the 3G I’m strongly considering getting a Android enable iPhone. Although it looks like Android wont be sporting multi tuch…. Why? because Apple asked them not ton include it.
Anyway this dosent stop my desire to check out an Androuid phone. Thoughts?
