Looks like apple finally got around to upgrading the Apple TV to support there new found LP format. And in addition to that left a bug in the system that will cause your content to randomly disappear.
But theres a fix if you have not done so already upgrade again to 3.0.1, Apple’s official method for accomplishing this (sent to me via email):
1. Reboot your Apple TV (unplug the power cord and plug it back in)
2. Select Settings > General from the main menu
3. Select Update Software
4. Select Download and Install
I’ve not had the time to thoroughly explore the new updates but what I have seen so far it appears to be a strictly visual update.

Looks like the AppleTV is getting some attention after being ignored during the Music event Apple just hosted. Apple has done away with the 40Gig AppleTV and slashed the price of the 160Gig Model to US$229. Perhaps they are clearing inventory in preparation for a new AppleTV? It seams lately all other Apple Products have been getting all the love maybe we can look forward to a revision of the AppleTV.
Whatever apple ends up doing one thing is for sure they need a Software update, even if its only to add support for the new iTunes LP format. It would be nice to be able to browse all that new content on my Big Screen.
I know of several people that don’t understand the AppleTV but I love mine, what are your thoughts on apples Media device?

Earlier this morning I posted about how to monitor for the release of the 3.0 Version of the iPhone OS using geektool.

If you didn’t get a chance to actually set this up but were wondering what would happen once the OS was released here is the after image. Remember I set it up to basically show me all versions available and before 10AM PST it was showing me there was 2 versions available for the 3GS and that was it, now it shows versions for all devices
