TomTom Coming to the iPhone

Looks like TomTom will be creating a new application for the iPhone OS 3.0, I’ve been considering getting a GPS device for my car so I don’t have to constantly look at my iPhone when I’m trying to locate a new place.

However it looks like the new iPhone OS 3.0 will be offering turn-by-turn navigation. And with TomTom creating an application to run on the phone you know your getting a great product. They are also offering a dock that allows you to attach your phone to ether the windshield or dashboard to offer handsfree viewing of the phone.

No word on price yet, although I’m guessing its going to be up there in order to not hurt sales of there hardware devices. I’d be willing to pay up to $60 for this product. but we’ll find out soon. Launch date is scheduled for June 17th along with the availability of the iPhone 3.0 software.

  1. Nice level of information here. There is so much data around about this subject that sometimes you cannot see the wood for the trees but you have pitched this at just the right level so that the lay person can understand – thank you!
